Summary[]
SEASON FINALE – Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan) will be forced to work together as a couple in ways they never have before if they hope to defeat their destined foe in Liam (guest star Jason Gedrick), who will do everything he can to expose Vincent as a beast in order to destroy their love.
Plot[]
Liam devotes all his energy to ruining Vincent and Catherine’s lives. His plan is to expose all of Vincent’s beast crimes dating back to his vigilante days. Cat thinks that Liam is going after Vincent and Cat because they wouldn’t let him get revenge on the Ellingsworths. Catherine wants to talk to Liam and appeal to his human side and remind him of who he was before. JT gets arrested for acting as Vincent’s accomplice. Against Catherine’s protests, Vincent follows Liam to a cemetery where Vincent gets caught standing over Curt Windsor’s recently exhumed body. Vincent is taken to Agent Russo and Director Hernandez at the DHS office. Vincent tries to explain that he was framed. The agents give him the day to think about confessing. Vincent explains to Catherine that cooperating could get them help with stopping Liam. Cat does not like the idea of Vincent coming out of the beast closet. Without much of a choice, Vincent calls Agent Russo and Director Hernandez to the hospital. Once the four of them are alone, Vincent beasts out. Vincent and Cat explain that the government did this to him, all of Vincent’s kills are of bad guys and there are others out there – namely Liam. Tess picks JT up from the 95th Precinct. JT thanks Tess for getting him out. Tess admits that it wasn’t her, it was Cat and Vincent. They made a deal with DHS. Agent Russo is on board to team up, but Director Hernandez seems to have the “help us and get a reduced sentence” approach. But Liam (dressed in Vincent’s lab coat) interrupts their discussion and kills Hernandez. After being attacked by Liam, Russo realises that he is the killer and is framing Vincent. So he joins Vincent and Catherine. SWAT storm into the hospital and chase Vincent all the way to the rooftop where he jumps to a certain human death. Of course, he is supposed to survive the fall because he is a beast. However, he gets tranqued mid-air. Vincent’s heart stops and Liam leaves. Tess and JT arrive. JT runs after Vincent. Cat wants to stay but in order for her plan to work, she has to go home and fear Vincent’s fate and like the grieving girlfriend so Liam won’t suspect anything. JT runs into the hospital with Agent Russo and injects Vincent with the new supercharged serum. Vincent, alive, is ready to take Liam by surprise and save Catherine. At home, Catherine looks devastated at the wedding cake topper. Liam sneaks up behind her, when she goes to attack him, he pushes her to the ground. Heather pepper sprays him. Liam turns to go after Heather but Cat yells “Don’t touch her! You came for me right? Not her.” Liam agrees and takes Cat in a blur. Vincent arrives to see the mess Liam left when he kidnapped Catherine. Vincent says, “Problem is, he knows how to cover his tracks." Heather replies, “Yeah. That’s what Cat said. That’s why I sprayed him. Right in the face, too!” Vincent replies “Oh, that a girl!” and kisses his sister in law on the cheek before blurring out on the balcony to track them. Liam takes Catherine to his lair which is “160 stories below the city in tunnels built long ago.” Cat takes off running and comes across where Liam has been living on and off for the past two centuries since Rebecca betrayed him. Cat says that Rebecca choosing Alistair of Liam is not a betrayal. “Rebecca never betrayed” him. Cat is mad that his vendetta is based on not getting over a relationship that happened centuries ago. Liam says that he “crossed the primal line a long time ago.” Cat asks, “Who says you can’t cross back?” Above ground, Vincent tracks Catherine and Liam. Back in Liam’s lair, Catherine suggests Liam might still can remember what it is like to be human. He looks at her intensely. Before Liam shares his thoughts, Vincent arrives and rips Liam’s heart out. Once back above ground, Vincent and Catherine go to Agent Russo’s office. Russo lets them know that the deputy secretary is up to date on Liam and beasts. Russo got the deputy secretary to cover for them with the truth: Liam tried to frame Vincent. The deputy secretary and Russo agree to keep “beasts” out of their reports. Russo was even able to pin most of Vincent’s past crimes on Liam. Catherine and Vincent meet up with JT, Tess and Heather at Il Cantuccio’s back room for a celebratory dinner. They toast to finishing Rebecca and Alistair’s fight. In the words of Tess, the only thing left for Vincent and Cat to do is to get hitched. JT jokes about them doing it that night. Vincent says he is game. Catherine asks who would marry them. Heather reminds them they can get ordained online. Vincent turns to look at Cat who is busy finishing her drink so they can get out of there. Up on Catherine’s roof, Tess gets ordained. Heather covers the place with flowers and string lights and candles. JT apparently ran out to get a cake and champagne. Vincent comes up to the roof and is surprised what his chosen family did in such a short amount of time. Catherine comes out the door and they get married. They pop the champagne, cut the cake and dance on the rooftop. |
Quotes[]
Catherine: He would love nothing more than to have history repeat itself.
Heather: What, by trying to kill you like he killed Rebecca? I don't think so. First of all I have pepper spray. And secondly, Rebecca did not have a little sister to help save her, and you do.
J.T.: Don't think you can go all rogue cowboy and do it by yourself.
